Senior Accountant / Corporate Accounting Manager

Salary - $85-105K plus bonus and benefits 

Private Equity firm based in Houston which focusing on the energy sector is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant or Accounting Manager for its own corporate accounting and reporting group in West Houston.

This role is a high level individual contributor who will have direct access and interactions with the executive team. High growth and visible role reporting directly to the CAO.

  • Prepares quarterly and annual financial reporting packages; Prepare individual partner capital statements. 

  • The role includes performing general accounting functions of the firm to include daily, weekly and monthly journal entries including end of month journal entries and financial closing procedures. .

  • Prepare general ledger account reconciliations and research any outstanding items to clear.

  • Responsible for maintaining the management fee calculations.

  • Prepares monthly invoices to vendors and schedule monthly vendor payments.

  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and SEC guidance, rules and regulations. 

  • Supports the deals team with new deal closings and investment exits and prepares the quarterly valuations of portfolio investments to include data provide by the deals team.

  • Liaise and provide information to external auditors.

  • Work on and complete special projects as assigned by leadership team. 

  • Provide support, assistance and advice to portfolio company on accounting issues and questions. 


  • 4-10 years of accounting experience, prefer CPA / MBA or (CPA eligible required); public accounting experience is preferred.

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Accounting required.

Corporate Accountant, Associate, Staff Accountant

Private equity owned international company is seeking a Corporate Accountant for its growing team. This role offers a hybrid remote schedule for those who desire this work arrangement in Houston. The role's primary responsibilities include preparing journal entries, month end close, fixed asset accounting and treasury transactions. Specifically seeking an experienced staff level accountant who is detail-oriented self-starter who possess strong business acumen and work ethic.   • Prepare and review journal entries for transactions including routine entries, intercompany transactions, closing entries, adjusting entries, etc.

  • Enter accounting related information into financial systems to include documentation backing up posted transactions.

  • Participate in monthly, quarterly and annual financial close processes including account analysis, account reconciliations, and making appropriate journal entries.

  • Perform treasury functions such as posting cash transactions, setting up wires etc. 

  • Work with Fixed Assets and depreciation schedules. 

  • Analyze variances and identify new trends for various accounts, as necessary.

  • Perform monthly and periodic bank reconciliations.

  • Assist in answering audit requests, prepare documentation for external auditors, as requested.


  • BSc/BA in Accounting, required

  • Proven experience as a Corporate Accountant at an experienced Staff level

  • Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and practices, GAAP

  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills required - ability to create formulas (including V-lookups) and pivot tables.

Responsibilities include:

  • Will have solid presentation skills in PowerPoint and the ability to articulate analysis in meetings i.e. to executives and corporate leadership

  • Must be knowledgeable and have experience with SQL, data warehouses and other automated reporting tools

  • Must be detail-oriented, self-motivated and data driven

  • Excellent communication skills and adept at learning accounting systems and software with proficient expertise in MS Excel to include formulas, lookups and pivot tables.
