Payroll Coordinator

$25-26/hr plus full generous benefits package and convenient onsite North Houston location. 

Seeking a Payroll Specialist to perform payroll activities and ensure the timely and accurate payment of employee wages.  Ensure the collection of all necessary information and documents, compute wages, investigate and resolve any payroll issues and discrepancies.

To be successful as a Payroll Specialist you should be able to efficiently coordinate payroll tasks and strictly follow company policies and legal regulations.  An outstanding payroll specialist should also possess strong people skills.  This position will report to the Supervisor of Payroll and also to the VP of HR.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Processing payroll (weekly and semi-monthly) for 545+ employees with 9 locations

  • Reconcile discrepancies of payroll data such as timecards, leave requests, and payroll deductions, to ensure accuracy and adherence to procedures prior to submitting payroll for processing

  • Resolving payroll discrepancies and answering any employee payroll questions

  • Keeping up with PTO tracker

  • Checking timesheets for accuracy

  • Handling direct deposit requests

  • Processing wage garnishments

  • Knowledge of wage withholding orders

  • Make adjustments in pay raises, bonuses, and commissions

  • Reconcile monthly invoices and ensure timely payment processing

  • Maintain current knowledge of payroll related State, Federal and company policies and procedures

  • Keeping SOP’s updated

  • Maintaining all payroll operations according to company policies and procedures

  • Assist HR Manager in new hire orientation and prepare onboarding for newly hired employees

  • May assist with recruiting function with screening resumes and setting up interviews

  • Handle the random drug screens within each company for 8 locations

  • Must maintain a high degree of confidentiality

Required Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Degree preferred but not required

  • 2+ years related Human Resource experience preferred with 2+ years of payroll experience

  • Must have at least 2+ years of hands-on experience running full-cycle payroll on HRIS such as Paylocity or similar

  • Experience in payroll administration

  • Accurate data entry skill with strong attention to detail

  •  Must have the ability to establish and maintain courteous and professional relationships with employees and executives

  • Must be detailed oriented, organized, and efficient in completing related tasks

Salary range - base $85- 90K plus bonus and excellent benefits. Hybrid schedule - 2 in office and 3 WFH, weekly

Senior Corporate Tax Accountant / Associate

$85-95K plus generous annual bonus and benefits, with a hybrid remote schedule. 

 

The Senior Tax Accountant supports global tax compliance and coordinates all internal and external tax resources, including the engagement of a national public accounting / tax firm. Reports to the Corporate Controller and acts as the internal hub of all the Company’s tax compliance.

The role is hybrid and works from home and in the office, with Mondays and Fridays being consistently remote and other alternating mid-weekdays. Benefits and bonuses are very generous and reliable. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate and oversee the global tax functions and responsibilities

  • Coordinate work with the company’s national public accounting firm and global tax advisor

  • Review all correspondence received from taxing and regulatory bodies, directing to the appropriate contacts and ensuring timely responses

  • Monitor the engagements and fees associated with tax compliance work performed by outside public accounting firm, including budgeting and forecasting costs

  • Assist in reviewing sales tax returns and renditions

  • Assist with tax audits including collecting, organizing and providing requested information

  • Maintain a tax database and ensure adherence to the tax filing deadlines, staying abreast of changing tax guidance and principles.

  • Work with Company’s foreign tax compliance agents to ensure timely and accurate reporting

  • Maintain projected and delegate work as required to meet deadlines

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a concentration in Accounting, required

  • 3 to 5+ years of relevant tax and compliance experience, corporate and public accounting tax experience is required

  • CPA license or progress toward is highly preferred

  • Experience in working within multiple states / jurisdictions

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and commitment to excellent customer service and collaboration with people

  • Proven track record for improving process efficiencies

  • Must possess strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills

  • Ability to respond to, prioritize effectively and meet deadlines while maintaining the highest of standards of completeness and accuracy
