Senior Accountant

Salary range - base $78 - 90K plus bonus and excellent benefits. 9/80 work schedule


This role is at a large Houston based large energy services corporation in the North Houston area.

Responsibilities include:

  • Prepares consolidated financial statements, quarterly and annual financial reporting packages; ad hoc internal reporting and analysis.

  • The role includes performing general accounting functions of the firm to include daily, weekly and monthly journal entries including end of month journal entries and financial closing procedures.

  • Review Percentage of Completion, revenue recognition accounting process.

  • Prepare general ledger account reconciliations and research any outstanding items to clear.

  • Maintain the Fixed Assets ledger and the related transactions like depreciation schedules, depletion, disposal, etc.

  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, accounting guidance, rules and regulations.

  • Liaise and provide information to external auditors.

  • Work on and complete special projects as assigned by leadership team.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university.

  • CPA or CPA eligible with progress towards license.

  • Must have knowledge and experience with US GAAP and internal controls compliance.

  • 2-5 years of experience in an industry corporate accounting role or 1-2+ years of public accounting external audit experience is preferred.

  • Must be detail-oriented, self-motivated and driven.

  • Excellent communication skills and adept at learning accounting systems and software with proficient expertise in MS Excel.


Corporate Accountant, Associate, Staff Accountant

Salary - $65-75K plus bonus and benefits

Private equity owned international company is seeking a Corporate Accountant for its growing team. This role offers a hybrid remote schedule for those who desire this work arrangement in Houston. The role's primary responsibilities include preparing journal entries, month end close, fixed asset accounting and treasury transactions. Specifically seeking an experienced staff level accountant who is detail-oriented self-starter who possess strong business acumen and work ethic.   • Prepare and review journal entries for transactions including routine entries, intercompany transactions, closing entries, adjusting entries, etc.

  • Enter accounting related information into financial systems to include documentation backing up posted transactions.

  • Participate in monthly, quarterly and annual financial close processes including account analysis, account reconciliations, and making appropriate journal entries.

  • Perform treasury functions such as posting cash transactions, setting up wires etc. 

  • Work with Fixed Assets and depreciation schedules. 

  • Analyze variances and identify new trends for various accounts, as necessary.

  • Perform monthly and periodic bank reconciliations.

  • Assist in answering audit requests, prepare documentation for external auditors, as requested.


  • BSc/BA in Accounting, required

  • Proven experience as a Corporate Accountant at an experienced Staff level

  • Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and practices, GAAP

  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills required - ability to create formulas (including V-lookups) and pivot tables.

  • Working knowledge of accounting software

This role works in many aspects of Accounting, Corporate Finance, Capital Markets and deals with tasks related to reporting and concepts including mergers & acquisitions, PPA, Lease and Loan Accounting. Also, a perfect fit for an external auditor or accountant who had moved from public accounting to an analyst role in industry.

  • Will have solid presentation skills in PowerPoint and the ability to articulate analysis in meetings i.e. to executives and corporate leadership

  • Must be knowledgeable and have experience with SQL, data warehouses and other automated reporting tools

  • Must be detail-oriented, self-motivated and data driven

  • Excellent communication skills and adept at learning accounting systems and software with proficient expertise in MS Excel to include formulas, lookups and pivot tables.
