Accounting Manager / Assistant Controller

$95-$105K plus excellent benefits and PTO

Duties:

  • Month End Close Activities including, but not limited to journal entries; review of various GL accounts; balance sheet reconciliations; ability to analyze accounts and identify/resolve potential problems; reviewing general ledger for accuracy and completeness; experience with bank reconciliations

  • Work with and answer requests from internal and external audit – pulling and review support; 

  • Create budgets & forecasts

  • Train and mentor degreed accounting staff (2 seniors/2 staff)

  • Work closely with AR and AP groups and over time, identify areas for improvements in all areas of transactional accounting

Requirements:

  • Accounting degree required.

  • Ideally, 10-15 years of experience – typical job progression – Staff -> Senior -> Manager. 

  • Understanding of full cycle of accounting – AP, AR, GL.

  • Proficient with spreadsheets/databases – Excel skills a must;  some Access – does not need to be advanced.

 

Accountant - Corporate Shared Services (North Houston)

$50-55K plus benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision, PTO and 401K)

Corporate Shared Services group is seeking a degreed Staff Accountant for its North side location. The group does the Accounting for 20+ entities/locations of the company. 

  • General ledger accounting, debits and credits, fixed assets and inventory accounting. 

  • Calculate and post monthly accruals

  • Perform inventory costing and cycle counts

  • Maintain and ensure proper lease accounting

  • Answer audit requests as required

Requirements:

  • Must have an accounting degree from an accredited university

  • Must have MS Excel experience; enterprise ERP experience is a huge plus

  • Knowledge of US GAAP

  • Strong interpersonal and overall communication skills, both written and verbal. 

Staff Accountant / Bookkeeper (South Houston)

Duties include:

  • Prepare journal entries in the QuickBooks Pro software system to record transactions

  • Perform account and bank reconciliations.

  • Reports to the Controller and works on projects, as assigned, by the corporate and operations leadership. 

  • Assist in supporting the Accounts Payable (match invoices/GL coding), Expense reporting and review, Billing and Accounts Receivable functions, as required.

  • Perform in-house payroll functions in completing certified payroll for all company employees.

  • Prepare 1099 for contractors and vendors.

  • Manages the office administrative functions

Requirements:

  • Must have full cycle GL accounting experience. 

  • Knowledge of financial statement preparation and review.

  • Prefer experience at a smaller to mid-sized private company.

  • QuickBooks and Excel experience required

  • Knowledge of certified payroll preparation

  • Self-starter with a flexible and friendly personality who likes to dice in and figure things out.
