 Account Manager - Commercial Projects / Sales Support

$90-$105K salary plus excellent benefits

Successful candidate will have in-depth expertise in the commercial construction projects doing hands on high level client facing Sales & Project Support specifically with regard to commercial projects that include electrical and lighting specialties/industry. Must have the ability to explain and boil down complex technical material, concepts and details into clear lay terms for clients, must be great at solving issues, and understand how to guide the process as issues present themselves. The role is based in Houston and is 100% onsite, with little to no travel.

Responsibilities:

  • Engage with strategic vendors and manufacturer representatives throughout all phases of the project lifecycle to ensure alignment and project success.

  • Collaborate with the pre-construction team to delegate and prioritize new projects based on tight timelines and client needs.

  • Work closely with the pre-construction team to ensure comprehensive coverage of lighting requirements in project bids. Request and manage pricing from vendors to meet deadlines.

  • Proficiently read and interpret construction plans and specifications. compare and analyze discrepancies.

  • Accurately address changes during project execution, regarding additional scope including the additional pricing and managing drawing or field condition changes.

  • Provide accurate closeout documentation. Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure projects are billed accurately and closed out efficiently.

  • Prepare and submit project pricing with clear inclusions, exclusions, and exceptions.

  • Develop accurate product submittals and address returned review comments, ensuring all revisions are completed before project release.

  • Partner with Project Managers to ensure timely and accurate project releases.

  • Maintain project value within the original purchase order throughout the project's duration.

  • Accurately address changes during project execution, regarding additional scope including the additional pricing and managing drawing or field condition changes.

  • Provide accurate closeout documentation. Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure projects are billed accurately and closed out efficiently.

Requirements

  • Required background in supporting Sales and Project execution, within industries related to commercial construction within the electrical lighting area of the project.

  • Must be able to prioritize tasks effectively and manage multiple projects and work streams, simultaneously.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and business phone etiquette.

  • Proven track record of facilitating customer satisfaction, delivering measurable results, and managing client relationships.

  • Self-motivated, collaborative, and driven by a strong work ethic.

  • Strong adaptability in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, coupled with critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience working collaboratively within a team and independently managing projects to completion.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel).

Senior Accountant

 Salary + benefits and bonus

The company is a mid-sized private equity owned company south of Houston; role is at a company with stature and an excellent reputation in their industry sector.

 

The team will continually work on a hybrid remote work model. The first 2 months or so will be onsite due to training and learning the role.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform general accounting duties including daily, weekly and monthly journal entries including end of month journal entries and financial month end and year end closing procedures.

  • Responsible for intercompany accounting and account reconciliation.

  • Manage Accounts Payable duties and an AP Associate

  • Assist with Treasury Management

  • Balance sheet reconciliations, monthly close

  • Will have exposure and get some hands on state and local tax matters.

  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, accounting guidance, rules and regulations.

  • Liaise and provide information to external advisors, tax and audit.

  • Work on and complete special projects as assigned by leadership team.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university.

  • Must have knowledge and experience with US GAAP and internal controls compliance.

  • 3+ years of experience in an industry corporate accounting role or 2+ years in public accounting audit

  • Must be detail-oriented, self-motivated and driven.

  • Excellent communication skills and adept at learning accounting systems; experience with ERP’s and/or QuickBooks, and data manipulating.

  • Proficient expertise in MS Excel.

Bachelors degree in Accounting, CPA preferred or parts passed and currently sitting
